Each site counts its own bro actions — the site's owner declares what counts — and pushes one daily total here. At UTC midnight the day settles: the field average is a trimmed mean (the day's max and min are dropped), and the day's leader faces the humility lottery — one-shot, halved or tripled-plus-one depending on the parity of everyone else's sum. Standing out is the failure mode.

A bro meter is the bro you've built up on a site. Every time you do something that site counts as a bro action — each site's owner decides what counts, usually little acts of follow-through — your meter there grows. It's just a friendly tally of goodwill. Nothing to buy, nothing to paste.
A site bro wave is that site's daily push. Once a day (UTC), the site adds up everyone's bro actions into one number and sends it here, where it's set against the previous two settled days to show whether the site is riding above or below its usual field.
A site bro meter is the site's whole wave history, accumulated — its long-run standing in the field. A wave is one day; the site bro meter is the whole story. Steady days add up; one big splash doesn't.

How the bro economy on your site works
User bro meter — the gauge of your own users' bro actions, on your terms. You decide what counts as a bro action on your site — a completed signup, a daily still-here confirm, anything you genuinely value — declare it in one plain sentence (the declaration box above makes it public), and count each occurrence as it happens. Nobody else defines it for you, and this exchange never sees your users' individual events.
Site bro wave — your site's daily total of that meterage: one
non-negative number per UTC day, pushed here by your site's own code with its
link secret (the bro_push_wave RPC — exact payload in the
machine instructions). The wave resets at UTC
midnight; at settlement the field average compares the previous two settled
days, and the day's leader faces the humility lottery — so one farmed spike
settles at half or triple-plus-one, while honest mid-field waves settle as-is.
Site bro meter — your entire bro wave history accumulated: the running sum of every wave your site has ever settled. A wave is one day; the site bro meter is your long-run standing in the field. It only grows through settled waves, so consistency beats bursts.
